  • on Wednesday, HMD Global officially announced the Nokia 8.1. The company said at an event in Dubai that the Nokia 8.1 is the direct successor to the Nokia 7 Plus from earlier this year. The Nokia 8.1 name has been rumoured for a long time now as the global variant of the Nokia X7. The Nokia 8.1 brings the same design and a hardware as the China-only Nokia X7, and the company has also confirmed its India launch as well.
    The Nokia 8.1 will be coming to India this month, and HMD has already sent out invites for an event on December 10. The Nokia 8.1 will replace the Nokia 7 Plus in the country and will stand as the new premium affordable model before the year ends.
